What is dehydration?
Everyone has heard the terms dehydrated or dehydration. It is most commonly discussed in the athletic world, or manual labor industry but it can happen to anyone!
Dehydration occurs when you lose more water than you intake.
Your body naturally loses water when you sweat, cry, or use the bathroom.
Even breathing causes you to lose small amounts of water!

What are the signs of dehydration?
There are varying degrees of dehydration.
This is why it is so important to learn the warning signs you don't drink enough water, and you can catch yourself before your dehydration becomes too extreme.
Mild dehydration can show up in the following ways:
- mood swings
- lack of focus
- extreme thirst
Severe dehydration shares common symptoms, with a few more extreme ones:
- loss of vision/blotchy vision
- urinating less or not urinating
- extreme cramping
- extreme thirst
Proper preparation can keep you from getting to this point.
