I remember when I was growing up, my best friend's mom drank Diet Coke religiously. I mean, like almost every time I saw her she had a Diet Coke in her hand.

Okay, so diet sodas have less sugar and less calories, but are they actually better for you?
The thing is, diet soda is essentially made of carbonated water, artificial sweeteners, colors, flavors, and other additives.

- It has no nutritional value - you may not be consuming calories, but you are also not consuming anything that does your body good either
- It can ruin your smile over time - diet soda contains citric acid which weakens and even destroys tooth enamel over time
From the few points above, I'm starting to lean towards the answer that diet soda is bad.
