4 Healthy Heart Tips

Happy September!

Did you know that the best time to start a new habit is the 1st day of the month?

It makes it easy to count the days and keep track of your progress.

Today, Wave Soda is bringing you some healthy heart tips to create positive and lasting habits!

Stay Active

Research shows that getting regular exercise helps lower blood pressure. Exercise also stimulates the production of new blood vessels which can result in better circulation.

The more you work out or train, the more efficient your heart becomes. Your resting heart rate will lower, which lessens the work your heart must do.

Your heart already does so much, why not help it out a little!

Maintain a Healthy Diet

Diet is so important! Eating foods that are high in LDLs (low-density lipoprotein) can clog your arteries and increase your risk of cardiovascular failure.

LDLs, or bad cholesterol, are commonly found in fried foods, fast food, processed meats, and desserts.

Health experts suggest consuming a diet consisting mostly of natural foods, such as:

  • fruits
  • vegetables
  • grains
  • low-fat dairy products
  • poultry
  • fish

All-natural foods and drinks, like Wave Soda, are great for maintaining a healthy diet and a healthy heart.

Consume Less Added Sugar

Added sugar is exactly what it sounds like; sugar or syrup that's added to foods or drinks when they are prepared or processed.

According to research, the average American consumes around 270 calories of sugar each day. That's 70 calories more than the limit that experts suggest!

Consuming excess amounts of sugar can cause the following heart issues:

  • heart disease
  • heart failure
  • heart attacks
  • strokes

The good news??

If you read our blog on sugar a few weeks back, you know that Wave Soda is one of a few healthy drinks that are all-natural, with no added sugar

That's cause for celebration!

Reduce Stress

Reducing stress is slightly more difficult than the other healthy heart tips since there is no true way to measure your levels at home.

Fortunately, we discovered a few different ways for you to manage stress, and they won't break the bank either!

  • meditation
  • exercise
  • positive affirmations
  • yoga
  • listen to music
  • read poetry
  • write in a journal

A little birdie told me that catching some gnarly waves also helps reduce stress!

Ocean waves, or Wave Soda waves, whichever you prefer ;)
